Cleaning Gourds

There are many ways to clean gourds. These are just a few to help those who are new to the gourd world.

1. Wet the gourd, then sprinkle Comet or some type of powdered cleaner on the gourd. Use a scrubber and remove all mold and dirt.

2. If a gourd is extremely moldy and hard to clean, you can try the following. Wet gourd, wrap a wet towel around it, put in a plastic bag and sit overnight. This will help to loosen the mold and dirt.

Caution: Some people are allergic to the mold on the gourd. You may need to use rubber gloves and/or mask to protect your health.
